Community Health Assessment

The Knox County Health Department’s Community Health Assessment offers a detailed look at the state of health in Knox County and is released approximately every five years. KCHD conducted its first Community Health Assessment in 2010 and the third Community Health Assessment was released in 2020.

The Community Health Assessment is a key part of KCHD’s strategic plan to improve health in Knox County and will be used to inform and monitor the organization’s efforts. In addition, this report will serve as the basis for the Community Health Council's Community Health Improvement Plan., which lists priority health issues for Knox County, as well as how best to address them as a community.

Knox County Health Department team members support and facilitate the CHC, as community health improvement is a crucial component of KCHD’s national accreditation and strategic planning efforts.
