Assistant Dean, Pellissippi State Community College

Bio: A native Chicagoan, Rosalyn Tillman moved to Knoxville in 1989. Her career has been a combination of teaching and administrative experiences in public education and at the community college level. In 2000 she was named the Assistant Dean of the Pellissippi State’s Magnolia Avenue Campus. The Campus started with only fifty students and now has grown to an enrollment of over 700. As a result of her work with the startup of this campus she was awarded the Gene Joyce Visionary Award. Rosalyn serves on several boards to include the Knoxville Area Urban League, the Community School of the Arts, ETPtv, Project GRAD Knoxville, Leadership Knoxville and the United Way. Her activity on these boards runs the gamut from officer to volunteer as needed. She has recently been elected as board chair elect of United Way of Greater Knoxville. Her term as chair will begin in April 2011.  She is married to Dr. Sheadrick A. Tillman and has two daughters, Nichole and Danielle. 

Why are you involved in Together! Healthy Knox? “We are all witnessing and sometimes even personally experiencing issues which affect the overall health and ultimate wealth of our community. I believe it is extremely important to work toward solutions toward making a healthier society. I hope I can make contributions to find these solutions and work toward making a difference.”
