Strategic Issue: How can we achieve equitable health outcomes for all community members?

Recent community health assessments indicate inequitable trends across many health indicators in Knox County. For example:
• mortality among African-American infants is more than twice that among white infants.
• A person without a high school diploma in Knox County is more than six times as likely to smoke cigarettes as a person with a college degree.
• Grocery prices are highest in the poorest sections of the county.
