David Brace

Deputy Director of Public Services, City of Knoxville
Bio: David is a husband and father and works full-time for the City of Knoxville. Although born in Boston, Massachusetts David was raised in Knoxville. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. Degree in Human Ecology (Comm Health Ed) and a Master's in Planning. David worked for a number of years as a firefighter/EMT and as an instructor for a private consulting company that provided safety and rescue training to industrial clients throughout the country. In 2002 he began working for the City of Knoxville in economic and community development and in 2004 became the Deputy Director of Public Service for the City of Knoxville under then Mayor Bill Haslam. David volunteers in various capacities with several organizations including the Knoxville Rescue Squad, the United Way, AYSO Region 337 and Ijams Nature Center. David is married to Gina Knapp Brace, a full-time mom and part-time nurse, and they have three children, Wyatt (6), Gianna (4) and Olivia (7 months). They are proud to live in the Island Home Park Neighborhood and love to hike, backpack and camp.
